Market intelligence
fOS tools for market prices — get_price_estimate returns APEX percentiles for a lane, plus benchmark reference tables for fuel and driver rates. Market data informs a bid; the authoritative recommended bid comes from the cost engine.
Tools for the price stage that answer "what does the market pay?" — distinct from the cost-of-record. See the arsenal overview for how to read the table.
| Tool | Type | MCP | Purpose |
|---|---|---|---|
get_price_estimate | Read | gated | APEX market percentiles (p25/median/p75) for a lane, with confidence. |
get_fuel_prices | Read | ✗ | Benchmark diesel prices by country — a reference table. |
get_driver_rates | Read | ✗ | Benchmark driver rates — a reference table. |
get_vignette_info | Read | ✗ | Vignette reference information. |
MCP: get_price_estimate is intended for external assistants but
currently gated with the other exchange/market write-adjacent tools; the benchmark tables are
web-side reference surfaces.
Market informs the bid — it is not the bid
get_price_estimate tells fOS where a lane clears. But the authoritative price to bid is the
bid recommendation — the carrier's cost floor positioned
against these market percentiles. fOS may show market context from this tool, but it acts on the
floor-aware recommendation, never on a floorless market number.
Reference tables are not cost-of-record
get_fuel_prices and get_driver_rates display real benchmark rows a dispatcher consults —
they are legitimate reference surfaces. They are not the cost of any specific chain; that comes
only from get_chain_economics. fOS never substitutes a benchmark for
the cost-of-record (see Cost grounding).
Chain economics
fOS tools for a chain's real profit-and-loss — get_chain_economics is the cost-of-record read, plus compare_chains and get_best_chains. All read straight from the cost engine; fOS never recomputes cost itself.
Outreach & CRM
fOS tools for the shipper relationship — read a shipper's learned profile, get a pipeline briefing, and log an interaction. Logging is the loop's "learn" action that makes the dispatcher compound.
