Live negotiation
fOS tools for real-time deal-making on a voice call — check whether a rate clears the margin floor (without ever revealing the floor), report the call outcome, and escalate to a human. These run on the voice surface.
Tools for the negotiate stage during a live call. They run on the voice surface — a tight, focused set for real-time deal-making.
| Tool | Type | MCP | Purpose |
|---|---|---|---|
check_rate_margin | Read | ✗ | Whether a proposed rate clears the carrier's margin floor. |
report_call_status | Action | ✗ | Report the call's outcome (progress, agreement, rejection). |
escalate_to_human | Action | ✗ | Hand off to a human when the deal is complex or out of bounds. |
None are exposed over MCP — live negotiation is a first-party voice capability.
Never reveal the floor
check_rate_margin validates a counter-offer against the carrier's cost-derived walk-away
floor — but it never reveals the floor to the counterparty. fOS negotiates down toward
the floor from a higher ask and escalates rather than going below it. This is a core guardrail —
see Never reveal the floor and the
bid recommendation.
Escalation
escalate_to_human is a first-class action, not a failure. When a deal needs authority beyond
fOS's bounds, or gets complex, handing off to a human is the correct move — the loop continues
with a person in the seat.
Outreach & CRM
fOS tools for the shipper relationship — read a shipper's learned profile, get a pipeline briefing, and log an interaction. Logging is the loop's "learn" action that makes the dispatcher compound.
Workspace
fOS tools that act in the user's Google/Microsoft workspace — compose helpers that draft mail, schedule events, and save files, plus the connected Gmail, Calendar, and Drive actions they hand off to. Requires a connected integration.
